Representing the white pawn, āa2ā is the second limited edition release in the Chess series. The term pawn is derived from the Old French word āpaonā, which comes from the Medieval Latin term for āfoot soldierā. Throughout the history of the game, the pawn has represented other occupations and taken other names in multiple languages. While it is typically seen as the weakest piece on the board, its importance to the game, from simple strategy to its potential to be promoted to any other piece on the board, demonstrates the integral part it plays in chess.
This label for our inaugural series is designed by Toronto-based artist Alexander Perkins, who continues to amaze friends, family and everyone else with his world-class talent. We can’t wait to see what piece he’ll bring to the board next.
This Staoisha is non-chill filtered and naturally coloured, yielding 259 bottles at a cask strength of 62.3% ABV.

BP Ben Nevis 2018 (Oloroso) 7yr 58.7% ABV
$105.00Founded all the way back in 1825 by John MacDonald, the Ben Nevis distillery sits below the eponymous mountain. The distillery has switched hands over the years and even to a Canadian, Joseph Hobbs, who made his money smuggling spirits across Lake Ontario to the United States during prohibition. At the moment, it is most recognisable as a single malt but has also made its name through its current Japanese owner, Nikka, who have historically used the whisky for production in its own blends, including Nikka Black.
Known for its robust character, the spirit is able to hold its own when aged in more robust casks, which includes this bottling, which has matured fully in a first fill Oloroso sherry hogshead.
This single malt scotch whisky is non-chill filtered and naturally coloured, yielding 311 bottles at a cask strength of 58.7% ABV.
