Situated in the south-east part of Barbados, on a former sugar plantation dating back to the early 1700s, lies Foursquare distillery. This 17-year-old Foursquare (MBFS) was distilled in 2006 and aged 14 years in American white oak casks before being transported to Europe in 2020 where it was transferred into a once used bourbon barrel.
The reputation for Foursquare speaks for itself. We knew when searching for the casks we wanted to bottle that this was an experience we had to share with friends who have been with us on this journey since the beginning. We believe that a good Foursquare is a staple of any rum drinker’s bar and it’s one that will be on our shelves at home and those of our nearest and dearest. We hope you take the opportunity to give it a try and share this as well.
The label is designed by Toronto-based artist Elise Conlin, whose early work while studying at the Ontario College of Art & Design caught our eye. We are excited that she agreed to lend her talents to a series of labels, aptly named “Shady Grove”, for our first releases.
This single barrel rum is non-chill filtered with no additives, yielding 250 bottles at a cask strength of 59.6% ABV.

Guardians (8 yr Trinidad Rum)
$45.00OUR TAKE: Guardians is the real sleeper in this lineup – Trinidad has produced some of the greatest rum in history (RIP, Caroni!) but also puts out a lot of so-so high volume juice so we didn’t enter the selection process assuming we’d come out with a “Trini”. And while the Foursquare and the Guyana were big, bold flashy candidates, this Trinidad kept popping up, refusing to be ignored (maybe because it’s over TWO THIRDS alcohol but drinks more like a 55 percenter). We succumbed to its fruity delights with absolutely zero regrets!
