Renaissance Clouded Leopard Bordeaux Cask Rum (Single Cask 19136) – 700ml
$250.00
THE STORY: It’s an incredible honor to be chosen as the US ambassadors to one of the most exciting and exclusive distilleries on the planet, Renaissance Rum of Taiwan. This passion project of Olivier Caen and Linya Chiou has developed a rabid cult following for their bold, uncompromising approach to distillation and maturation with exceptional & rare finishing casks. Every bottle sells out almost instantly in Taiwan so there’s little need for Renaissance to export their bottles (indeed only 5 casks were exported off the island prior to the 2 that we brought in), making it devilishly challenging to score bottles in the US.
This bottling is named “Clouded Leopard” a rare and strikingly gorgeous creature indigenous to Taiwan (very much like the rum!)
THE RUM: A dense, multi-layered flavor experience, with the ultra-rare Leoville Poyferre Boardeaux cask imparting dark fruits, smoky poblano pepper, aromatic turmeric, sharp herbs, dunder funk, finish with rounded tannins and ancient leather (Single Cask 19136)
AGING: 5 yrs in Taiwan in American New Oak (1 yr) and First Fill Saint Julien Leoville Poyferre red wine cask 2nd growth French Oak (3 yr, 11 months), Bottled Nov 2024
PRODUCTION: Taiwanese Molasses with Dunder in Direct Fire Charentais Pot Still, 13 day fermentation with French West Indies Yeast Strain
STRENGTH: 66.5% Cask Strength ABV

Guardians (8 yr Trinidad Rum)
$45.00OUR TAKE: Guardians is the real sleeper in this lineup – Trinidad has produced some of the greatest rum in history (RIP, Caroni!) but also puts out a lot of so-so high volume juice so we didn’t enter the selection process assuming we’d come out with a “Trini”. And while the Foursquare and the Guyana were big, bold flashy candidates, this Trinidad kept popping up, refusing to be ignored (maybe because it’s over TWO THIRDS alcohol but drinks more like a 55 percenter). We succumbed to its fruity delights with absolutely zero regrets!
