dunderclap by rum et al 49% ABV (750 ml)
$75.00
THE STORY: We’re huge fans of Dr. Robyn Smith and her Los Angeles microdistillery “rum et al” where she applies her knowledge and scientific rigor from her PhD. in chemical engineering to the art of rum production. Her rums are bold, powerful and explosively delicious and we’re delighted to distribute her creations across the US!
THE RUM (by Dr. Robyn Smith, PhD): on the nose dunderclap (49% abv) has so much cinnamon and raisins with notes of custard. there’s citrus, like orange zest and orange blossom, along with brown butter. there isn’t any heat at all. the aromas are filled with syrupy fruits. on the palate the mouthfeel is oily and silky with no heat. there are immediate notes of dried figs, fig jam, and prunes. lots of prunes! there’s candied orange, toasted cinnamon stick, fresh grated nutmeg, and golden raisins. i also get notes of vanilla and honey.

Manora 9 yr Thailand Rum Blend
$35.00Asian countries speak of the half human/half bird Kinnaree and Kinnara. A famous Thai play involves “Manora”, a Kinnaree that was captured & gifted to Prince Suthon who fell in love with her. When Suthon left for war, jealous advisers convinced the King to sacrifice Manora. Manora escaped and fled to her homeland. The prince went on a quest to find his beloved & they returned to court to live happily ever after. When performed, “Manora” was often played by a male, reflective of Thailand’s historical acceptance of gender fluidity. This blend celebrates their acceptance of LGBTQ & transgender people (which includes our youngest daughter)..
Our “female” cask opens beautifully with lush, floral notes while our “male” Thai cask has a strong lingering oaky finish, making this a perfect “gender blend”!
